A Better Script Length Calculator - By BAP

Script Calculator

Frustrated by the innacuracy of the 'One Page = 1 minute' rule that is often employed for scripts by screenwriters and playrights alike? This calculator that we hacked together breaks things down on a more granular level (potentially) leading to a more accurate estimate, particularly for action heavy scripts.
As long as you have a rough estimate of:

1. Word count
2. What percentage of your script is action vs dialogue
3. Whether your action tends to be more descriptive or take up more actual screentime

You're off to the races! Happy writing, and remember, it's only bad writing technique if you're not the one directing it!

(PS: One useful tip to get a sense of what you'll want to put for the 'WPM' Section, use previous scripts that you'v'e already successfully 'put-up' and know the runtime for.)
